口是心非
Weekend TODAY June 21-22, 2008 (page 24 - Revised ERP can be beneficial)
Due to high petrol prices forcing drivers to cycle or take public transport to work, the writer felt that we should applaud LTA for their good implementation.
I have 3 questions in mind since this afternoon.
1) Does it mean that there will be a decrease in ERP charges and ERP gantries when petrol prices drops?
2) Big familes consisting of kids and elderly going out together via public transport is much more inconvenient compared to travelling in a private vehicle. Do we have to applaud when the burden is heavier?
3) How can citizens be encouraged to take public transport when the circle line isn't ready? The fares for public transport increases but the quality of services isn't increasing proportionally.
QUOTE from yhsteven8: This is our country, not the PAP's. If they are voted out or even if we can reduce the number of PAP in the parliament by just 30%, our lives will be much more easier in Singapore. Why should we suffer when they are supposed to be the public servants and we are the people?
They are so arrogant just because Singaporeans think selfishly. We think if we vote in the oppositions, the value of our houses will fall or we will be penalized. I am not refering to EPR only. How about the increased cost of bus/MRT fares, increased GST ...etc when the world is going into recession? When all other countries govt are helping their citizens to tie over this econ slow down, ours is increasing basic living necessities costs for all of us. How I wish Singaporeans do not have such short memories when it comes to election time.
End of
QUOTECan the leaders set a good example first? It is so contradicting. Totally speechless, lets applaud instead...
